What Parents & Colleagues  Are Saying

Rafikki.jpeg

The moment I met Elissa, I immediately knew that her talent, positive attitude, and energy were going to be such an asset for The Galloway School. She both produced and directed outstanding high-quality musicals which showcased her expertise in the field. These amazing shows, alongside with her hands-on teaching of drama and improv provided my daughter with the tools she needs to navigate the world of musical theater.  As a parent, I have truly never seen a teacher who connects with her students in a more sincere and meaningful way than Ms. Marele.

I have worked with Elissa Marele for almost 6 years as a close colleague and collaborator in the theater department at The Galloway School. Elissa’s passion for theater is unparalleled and she rejoices in sharing that passion with her students.  She works tirelessly to make sure that each student is featured onstage, figuring out creative ways of creating ensemble and individual moments so that the young actors in the group can stand out in ways that make every student feel successful.
She has excelled in organizing and planning productions, rehearsal calendars, and is very effective in communicating with families. Her productions are exceptionally vibrant, colorful and creative, and she is gifted in creating gorgeous stage pictures and storytelling that every audience LOVES.

Elissa Marks Marele took my son’s love of theatre to a whole new level. He entered her program enjoying performing and being on stage with some raw talent. When their time together was over, he was equipped with not just a love of musical theatre, but teaching and training that allowed him to be accepted into all of the college theatre programs that he auditioned for during his senior year. Her direction and mentoring significantly contributed to him obtaining his BFA in Musical Theatre and moving to NY to pursue his dreams!
